ChatGPT Prompts for Etsy Listings

Use these ready-to-paste ChatGPT prompts to write Etsy listings that rank and convert. Each prompt is designed to work as-is — no tweaking required.

Prompt 1: Etsy Title Generator

You are an Etsy SEO expert. Write 5 alternative Etsy product titles for a [YOUR PRODUCT TYPE, e.g. handmade leather wallet].

Each title must:
- Be under 140 characters
- Include the primary keyword first
- Mix popular buyer search terms (e.g. gift, personalized, custom, handcrafted)
- Use natural sentence structure, not just a keyword list

Format output as a bullet list with the estimated search volume hint for each title.

How to use: Replace [YOUR PRODUCT TYPE] with your actual product. Paste into ChatGPT and copy the best title to your Etsy listing.

Prompt 2: Product Description Writer

Write a compelling Etsy product description for [PRODUCT NAME] that:
- Starts with a hook sentence that addresses the buyer's emotional trigger
- Includes the primary keyword in the first 40 words
- Has 3 short paragraphs covering: what it is, why it's special, and how to use/gift it
- Ends with a soft call-to-action (no aggressive sales language)
- Stays under 500 characters total

Product details: [INSERT MATERIALS, SIZE, CUSTOM OPTIONS, CARE INSTRUCTIONS]

Prompt 3: Etsy Tags Generator

Generate 13 Etsy tags for [PRODUCT TYPE]. Follow these rules:
- Each tag must be 20 characters or under (Etsy's limit)
- Mix broad tags (e.g. gift, wedding, birthday) with specific tags (e.g. leather journal, boho wall art)
- Include alternate spellings and common typos buyers might search
- Do not repeat tags

Output as a comma-separated list only.

Prompt 4: Google-Ranked Listing Intro

Write a 150-word SEO-optimized blog intro for a page titled "Best [YOUR PRODUCT NICHE] for [YOUR TARGET BUYER] on Etsy."

Include:
- The keyword "[PRIMARY KEYWORD]" naturally in the first 2 sentences
- A brief mention of why buying on Etsy vs Amazon is different
- A teaser of what the reader will learn

Tone: friendly, knowledgeable, not salesy.
